How utterly gorgeous is this bag? Classic, elegant, neutral enough to match any outfit and with enough detailing and great construction to make it stand out from your everyday bag.

I've been lucky enough to do quite a bit of traveling in the last few months (our destination wedding in Mexico last month, whoot) with another trip hopefully to come in the next few months to Europe. A bag like this would be so perfect for lugging all those carry-on essentials on the plane. It's only a mere $800...sigh...

Did I just use "whoot" in a sentence? I think I did.

Golden girl

How amazing is this shot by Patrick Demarchelier? So pretty, with an eery, fairytale/fantasy quality. I would never have thought the words "gold", "foil" and "headpiece" could come together to describe a piece with an effect this stunning!

Art in fashion

Amazing detail on this Alexander McQueen gown...appears sculpted out of grain!

J. Mendel

How absolutely gorgeous is this evening wear collection by J. Mendel? Always one of the designers whose collections I obsess over, these are the sorts of dramatically beautiful frocks I wear in my dreams.

Shoe makeover: Nine West

I've been pleasantly surprised and impressed by the array of stylish, on-trend and affordable heels and flats Nine West has released in recent years.

Some of the pairs I'm currently coveting:

Eye for an Eye Gray Mary Jane pump, can see wearing this to dress up a mini and a tee or a casual dress on a night out.

Going Steady sandal, I like how walkable the heel height seems, and this would be great with a range of cocktail dress numbers.

PotLuck wedge, a great shoe for my daily jeans-and-tee uniform.

Flax pump, glittery finish for outfits on nights out or to add some fun sparkle to a casual daytime look.

Perri sneaker, comfy-looking yet chic and fun.

We Want It sandal, for casual summer days.

Nine West seems to really have redone their look and brand, with great results.

Fringed frenzy

Fringe has been one of those big recent trends that I have mixed feelings about. On the one hand, done in modest doses I think it can add cute flair to a look; on the other, in larger doses, it just seems so...overwhelming. Like Cowboy girl-meets-Citygirl gone wrong.

The "Coronado" by Testament dress (pictured last) is a subtle take on the fringe trend, with just a delicate smattering lining the hem and bodice of the dress which I think it adorable and adds to the overall look and feel. This would be the perfect little number for a summer picnic out during those June weekends in New York!
