Shoe makeover: Nine West

I've been pleasantly surprised and impressed by the array of stylish, on-trend and affordable heels and flats Nine West has released in recent years.

Some of the pairs I'm currently coveting:

Eye for an Eye Gray Mary Jane pump, can see wearing this to dress up a mini and a tee or a casual dress on a night out.

Going Steady sandal, I like how walkable the heel height seems, and this would be great with a range of cocktail dress numbers.

PotLuck wedge, a great shoe for my daily jeans-and-tee uniform.

Flax pump, glittery finish for outfits on nights out or to add some fun sparkle to a casual daytime look.

Perri sneaker, comfy-looking yet chic and fun.

We Want It sandal, for casual summer days.

Nine West seems to really have redone their look and brand, with great results.

Wish list for a sunnier climate

We'll need to take a trip to Mexico within the next couple of months to check out some potential wedding destinations in person before making a decision. While I'm feeling a little frantic with the prospect of planning a wedding and starting a new job within the next month looming large, as a travel addict, I'm always thrilled with the prospect of taking another trip.

Here's some of the summery frocks, swimwear and assorted other lovely items I'd love to bring on a trip to a warmer climate:

A breezy, sexy maxi dress to wear during day time jaunts around time and during dinner.

A sunny, glamorous yellow bikini to lounge around in on the beach.

Chic sandal with a modest heel to add a boost, but low enough to walk around in all day.

Embellished cover up sweater to throw on at the beach.

My go-to basic for every occasion and an absolute travel necessity: a comfy, deep-V neck tee to wear with everything, in every climate.

A pair of shorts that can be dressed down with flats for daytime sightseeing, and dressed up with heels or wedges for evenings out.

A lightweight bag that can be worn cross-body to keep hands free. I wore this Kooba bag while climbing around the dusty, amazing temple ruins of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, which luckily enough had a strap long enough to wear cross body.

A sweater to throw on when evenings get chillier, or when faced with intense AC indoors.

Riding boots with flair

I've been lusting after a pair of black riding boots tipped in camel or brown for a while now. This pair by Etienne Aigner would be the perfect finish for a fall/winter outfit...

Criss-crossed

I spotted these A. Marinelli sandals recently and love them! They would be the perfect way to add some pop to a neutral-toned summer outfit...can't you imagine wearing these with a crisp white tee and a mini, or a sundress?

Keds!

I was in elementary school the last time I actively wore Keds, but now I find myself craving several of their styles! They're absolutely adorable, and comfy to boot...great for a weekend running around, when you don't want to wear something too fussy to finish off an outfit.

I love these three styles and snagged a pair of the Champion Saddle sneakers for myself yesterday in black and white.

On my spring wish list:

On my spring wish list are the 'Marci' sandals by Dolce Vita. My love of neutrals is well documented on this blog, and I love the current 'greige' craze (hues falling somewhere between nude and gray).

These sandals have a great, easy-to-wear-everyday tone, and are eye catching without being overwhelming...some of the current, in vogue 'gladiator' and 'bondage' footwear styles are so intricate and involved that the shoes make you feel like you should either be on the set of a roman gladiator flick or the star of a strange, S & M clown show.

The above pictured cuties strike a perfect balance, and I feel like they would be perfect with a pair of sleek, dark jeans...

I just got a new job, and while I'm definitely excited for the change, I also got the sense that the dress code of my new organization will be a bit more formal than that of my previous one.
Accordingly, I've been on the hunt for work-appropriate wear that's crisp, understated and stylish; no mean feat! Images of my pics are posted above; details are listed below.
1. Kate Spade Cammie pump, $295.00 at ShoeBox
2. Theory Jonella Tee, $75.00 at Shopbop
3. Ellen Tracy Short Hooded Trench, $179.00 at Nordstrom

Sandals!

It's hard to believe, but yesterday, walking around, I could actually taste the first hint of spring in the air! New York City in the spring is unbeatable and I can't wait.

Accordingly, it's time to start pulling out warm-weather footwear and sandals are already popping out in the stores. My pick: Pour La Victoire's Erika sandal, $220.00 at Piperlime.

Back to boots

Now that autumn has officially hit, weather and all, style wise this means one thing: boots. I live in my boots and my wardrobe's pretty much built around having the right pair. Or right ten pairs. One, ten. You know how these things go.
